Description
A Work Permit Receiver (WPR) is a key role in industrial and construction projects, responsible for receiving, verifying, and implementing work permits to ensure that all operations are conducted safely and according to approved procedures. In high-risk environments like Aramco projects, WPR personnel serve as a vital link between field workers, supervisors, and safety teams. They help ensure compliance with regulatory standards, reduce workplace hazards, and maintain smooth workflow. By managing work permits effectively, WPR personnel contribute to operational efficiency, accident prevention, and overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
WPR personnel are tasked with receiving and validating work permits before any work begins on-site. This involves checking that all safety precautions, risk assessments, and approvals are in place. They communicate with field staff and supervisors to clarify instructions and ensure proper adherence to protocols. Daily duties include monitoring ongoing work, documenting permit compliance, escalating issues or deviations, and coordinating with HSE teams to maintain safety standards. WPR personnel also assist in emergency response procedures and ensure that all permit-related activities are accurately recorded and executed.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must hold a valid WPR card and have prior experience in industrial or construction environments. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate between multiple teams are essential. Knowledge of industrial safety standards, work permit procedures, and risk management is required. Physical stamina and the ability to work in demanding environments enhance effectiveness. Familiarity with emergency response protocols and accurate record-keeping is highly desirable. Previous experience in Aramco-approved projects is advantageous, as it ensures readiness for high-standard safety and operational protocols.
